Spotless room and bathroom. Complementary ear plugs on the bedside table (but not necessary since quite at night) kind ladies operation the reception. Directly located in the middle of the city, next to a bank, opposite of a supermarket and restaurants around the corner. 5 min walking distance from the ferry terminal and 3 min walking distance from the train station.

Great place to stay, peaceful and quiet if you are tired of busy cities and crowds. Came here just after their repairs as I’ve been told and from what I had seen the rooms are great. Haven’t seen any dirt or mould, which is a great pro to stay here. Another great pro is a 10% discount in a nearby restaurant and a next door bar with an ability to take away drinks to your room (no need to get them back as I’ve been told the stuff will take them back after my check-out). Check in was easy as I did it in person. Cash is acceptable with a receipt emailed. Check the hours of check in and check out on their website, so you could plan your trip properly. For the check out as I understand there’s an option to leave a key somewhere, but I preferred to call an assistant (all phone numbers available on reception) to give the key in person. Overall the experience is great. Definitely will come back here.

The standards of friendliness, cleanliness and service at the family run Marine Hotel are exceptionally high. From the moment we signed in for our five night stay we experienced friendliness and a desire by all the staff to make our stay wonderful. Our room was modern, bright and beautifully clean. The view of the Isles of Skye, Rum and Eigg was a bonus. The hotel is situated near the railway station ( but we didn't hear any noise from the trains) and the amenities of Mallaig. The lovely breakfast was served in the pleasant , airy dining room. At the moment they are not serving other meals but will probably be doing so soon. There are several nearby restaurants. Thank you very much to Jacqueline, Nancy, the chef and all the staff for a memorable stay.

We didn’t stay overnight as just a couple of hours to explore Mallaig after train up from Fort William. Shelley, our hostess at The Marine Bar provided a welcoming escape from the chill.

Can't say enough good about our stay at the Marine Hotel. It is right in the center of town, so walkable to everything. Two minutes walk to the ferry port and the train station. Rooms were clean and comfortable. What really sets this hotel apart from most is the fact that it is family owned, and the service is amazing. We were met by Zoe, who went out of her way during our stay, and a couple of days later, to help and give advice on anything we might need. They also have a lovely bar area that is warm and welcoming. I would love to stay here over and over!

Clean, centrally located hotel. Friendly staff who helped us getting our bags up many flights of stairs. Good quiet sleep quality. We ordered a take out breakfast for 2 as our ferry left at 7.25. Unfortanetly we only receive a packed breakfast for 1. That was the only neg point.

Booked 2 twin rooms and as our mum was unable to get upstairs Jacqueline guided us round to the back so she was able to get to her room without using the stairs. The rooms were very clean and had plenty tea and coffee. Jacqueline went above and beyond to make her stay more comfortable and we can't thank her enough. The breakfast was amazing and freshly cooked . We can't thank the staff enough and we will be back

Stayed here for 5 nights. Rooms are really comfortable, especially the Pillows (I normally take my own but forgot and these were great). I know some reviews complain about the seagulls which you do hear but not the hotels fault and they give earplugs. Breakfast was really good with lots of choices. Really friendly staff, who were always cheery and gave good recommendations
